Birthday Cake – Using Bendy Card & Corrugated Topper Instructions from soon to be released Everyone Needs a Hougie 3

Now this one is a bit more outside the box. I took the instructions for the Bendy Card in the Everyone Needs a Hougie 3 and thought it would look good as a big birthday cake. I used the technique from the Corrugated Topper to make the cake case. I used twice the length of card as recommended as I wanted room for the corrugated effect and shaped with top with the Stampin' Up Scallop border punch. I scored it at 1cm intervals rather than the 0.5cm in the corrugated topper instructions as that corresponded to the 'dips' in the scalloped circle punch. The 'cake' was cut from white card & coloured using my Promarkers. I glued my corrugated cake case to this base to ensure it was stable and strong. The candle was made by rolling the card around a pencil & glueing the join using 3M Quick Dry Adhesive. When it was dried I cut two small slits in the bottom so it would slot onto the cake. I then coloured a flame & slotted it into the top of the candle. I'm not sure it looks exactly as I was hoping, but hopefully near enough to give the idea.
